GW2 Migration plan Empty GW2 Migration plan

Homeworld: Currently set to be Stormbluff Isle

In VOIP conversations, "ECHO" shall mean PvE and "Papa" shall mean PvP. These words are easier to distinguish and require no repeats.

GW2 guild meetings are open to all officers. Initial frequency is unresolved beyond having a meeting shortly before and after each BETA. Long term frequency is initially scheduled to be monthly.

Plans are to concentrate resources according to type for use by crafters to fabricate boons and distribute to all members as early as opportunity allows. The more non-monetary resources we get early-on, the better for ECHO and PAPA sides of HERO. Investment of these assets early on will be done by agreement among the Senior Officers; balanced, coordinated use of influence to develop architecture, politics and so on will give us the best balanced development strategy.

MIGRATION TO GW2

1) We will do it using Mumble.
2) We will take advantage of the 3 day head-start digital downloaders get by purchasing it April 10 (it will not be possible to form permanent Guilds until the head-start).
3) Ravenscroft, Blondie, Bunny or Bear will establish the HERO Guild in the opening minutes of the GW2 3-day headstart.
4) All current HEROs will be invited to GW2-HERO.

There are customizable ranks in GW2. There is a GL rank whose authority is absolute, all else is customizable. HERO will have:

Duke/Duchess: The ruling council of HERO. Dukes must be trusted HEROs who must be active forum members and must use VOIP. The rank of Duke (Duchess) will have such authority that it is absolutely vital that we keep it small, as in tiny. Initial plans are for this rank to consist of only 4 members, all of whom are already identified. This rank will be EXTREMELY stable in its membership, there will be no shifting people in and out of the Duke rank over periods of unavailability. Basically, once the Dukes are installed, they are set. No one is going to be appointed to Duke without a very convincing pedigree and dire need.

Baron/Baroness: The officers of the court. This rank has invite and other similar responsibility-level authorities. There may currently be up to six Barons who must be active forum members and must have and use VOIP. Only a Duke or Duchess can make a Baron. The bulk of the officering burden should be borne by the Barons (Baronesses), not the Dukes (Duchesses).

Lord/Lady: An honorary title reserved for historic members and the untitled spouses of officers. These members hold no special authority or officer status.

Knight/Dame: The senior enlisted, have invite and similar responsibility-level authorities. Only Barons and above can make a Knight. Note: Forum and VoIP use are highly encouraged for this rank.

Squire: Noteworthy Footman. You will know if you were noteworty if you log on one day and discover you are a Squire. In general, be weighed, measured and not found wanting!

Footman: The general population. Footmen will be observed for latent tendencies to be generally annoying. Footmen who annoy more will earn the priveledge of remaning a Footman longer (as opposed to being promoted to Knight and gaining the power to invite all of their annoying friends). NOTE: Annoying is not an automatic kick, it just means no authority that can be abused. This rank is automatic for ANY current GW1 HERO regardless how long it's been since they logged on. Promotion of new members to Footman will be liberally awarded by Knights and above based primarily on decent citizenship (meaning not bad citizenship). Forum use is highly encouraged at this rank.

Peasant: Newly invited people are automatically deposited here by the game once they accept their invitation and will remain for a full 3 days minimum (for starters, unless we know them from GW1). This is a precautionary purgatory rank with no permissions what-so-ever (not even a cape, if we can control that). Typically the true-blue, dyed-in-the-wool, first-class JERK reveals him/herself in the first 3 days; leaving them here for that minimum period of time will protect the rest of the guild from damage. Surviving this 3-day probation earns a pretty much automatic promotion to Footman which any Knight can grant. Anyone who is not promoted to Footman after a week is probably going to be promoted to,... a different list. Seriously, not getting promoted to Footman is going to leave a mark.

As much of this information is held elsewhere I do not see the need for it to be a sticky any longer.
