TEST ACTIVITY 1

This is a test event, created to test functionality of the event calendar. The way this is expected to work is, a Guild-Member with "Create" priveleges on the calendar will post a SHORT TITLED (meaning the "Title of the topic" will be 15 characters or less to fit in the calendar square) event with a fuller description in the body of the message (here). If you have specific people you are planning to include, mention them in the description so that their party slots will be reserved. The description should also include:
Day/Date
Time (use server-time - everyone can access that: open F11 screen, select "Server Time" in 4th drop-down).
In-game Location (major zone (ie: Gendarren Fields) and nearest waypoint)
Specific Purpose (name of Storyline chapter, Dungeon, World Event, etc. or "unlock Balthazar Temple")
Special Requirements (if you really want people to be on Ventrilo, if you want them to bring lvl 80 toons,etc.)

Interested members with "Reply" priveleges (anyone who is not still a Peasant {see .[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] for clarification}) will be able to join the activity by replying to the message. Party size is 5, so where party-size is a factor it will be first-come, first-served. In things like Guild Bounties where party size is immaterial, the more, the merrier!

Location: not applicable
Purpose: test forum calendar functionality
Requirements: none

Everyone who sees this, please post a reply (even if its only, "Hi"). If you are unable to respond, let Ravenscrof, Blondie or me know and we will investigate why. The more feedback we get, the better this will work by launch (next weekend).

P.S. Anyone who wants to start posting for-real activities, feel free! If you can't post, let one of us know! (Note: some members people are not supposed to be able to create activities. Try anyway and help us make sure it is set up correctly!)

You are?!?!?! and you were able to respond... Good help troubleshooting, peasants are not supposed to be able to do that. Think its appropriate to promote you just for the good paying attention and spirit of helpfulness; stuff we are looking for!

The problem was obvious; all "members" had reply permissions. While "Peasants" are not viewed as full members of the Guild, they are, administratively, "members" of the forum. Problem corrected.

Kangamin, "Congratulations," I believe, is the appropriate acknowledgement.

Ok, there were not many respondants, but the one non-Ducal respondant happened to fit in an unconsidered logic-pattern and directly precipitated the corrrection of a previously unconceived case. In all other respects everything worked as originally intended and as currently hoped for.

The calendar function is now officially operational! I will be happy to counsel anyone who wants to post an event - not so much to tell them what they can and cannot do as an event, but how to use the calendar to accomplish what they want. Use the PM button under my name in any of my posts to request help.
