Bunny's Surgery Empty Re: Bunny's Surgery

Thank you! I am recovering well. I can breathe (they put straws in my nose) and the bleeding has stopped. They tell that when all is healed and they remove the splints and straws from my nose, that my life of terminal congestion will be over. The swelling and soreness is supposed to be pretty much over by the end of the week, not sure when the nasal inserts all come out.

If they are anything like the ones Blondie had it will be a few weeks, but in her case she had a deviated septum so they were breaking things up in there and holding them in place while they healed. so she may have had a more involved splint. Hers were the size of small bananas when they removed them....

septoplasty is for a deviated (in my case, badly) septum. Not happy about this additional info...

Take drugs before you get your splints removed. Lots of drugs.

And I still get congested, I just don't get an infection every month anymore. It's nice.

The only reason I did this was to clear the congestion. Sad

Her situation is most certainly different than yours, she was promised less congestion and less sinus infections. I'm sure you wont have gone through all of this for no gain.

Thank you both for the amazing amount of attention you are paying me. Sometimes I feel like a big baby about this. Its my first surgery at age 50, I guess I'm more affected than I thought.

I am breathing well (the straws in my nose may account for this). My follow up is tomorrow. not sure if the spoints are comming out so soon; I actualy hope not. Seminary school starts nest week, and there are three jobs, two of which are contractor roles and the third is a sort of dream-job, all of which may offer next-week start dates. Things are moving chaotically around here.

My surgery was great, the stuff is removed from my nose, there is some pressure and tenderness, but the breathing is awesome. bleeding is almost stopped entirely. This is a success.
