Was anyone else surprised?

I was reading through some of the pages on GW1 wiki about upcoming changes or plans and realized that they never completed the third arc of the GWbeyond content. They have a note in there about a planned GWbeyond for Elona but say that they ran out of manpower etc to complete it.

So I was rather surprised that they have decided to launch GW2 and just skip that part of the story all together. I guess the books and Lore in GW2 would fill in the gaps but I wondered if anyone else had realized that and thought it odd.

I realized they had plans for GW Beyond - Elona, but I knew it was all only intended as filler to keep people occupied until GW2. At first I thought the increasing release times from War in Kryta, to Hearts of the North, to Winds of Change was just a way to spread their filler material out long enough to last until GW2. However: If I was sent to work on GW1 filler material while everyone else was allowed to work on GW2, I'd be out-right upset. Darned right they ran out of manpower; no one would put up with being left behind!

No, that wasn't odd; odd would have been for them to keep delivering new GW1 content.

That's only my opinion though.

We'll I was happy to see some of the newer content they released for GW1 start to hint towards some of the new features they planned to release. And I am certainly happy that they have not needlessly postponed GW2.

I wonder if there is anyone out there who was disappointed they didn't complete the elona chapter. Personally I was so checked out of GW1 I doubt I would have bothered to pay attention to another chapter outside of reading the wiki summary of the missions.
